About Me

People have asked me why I write this blog.  I'm not a Pastor or even a current teacher of Biblical studies.  I just love God and I wanted to share some of the things He began to show me.  My Bible is my foundation, and I hope all my views are reflective of the truths from it.  I do attend church, and I learn much from my Pastors.

Why did I call myself a closeted geek?  I am a geek.  I love to read and watch fantasy and science fiction stories.  I admit, I love Star Trek most of all, and Captain Picard is my hero.  I take after my father who has the biggest DVD/Blu-Ray collection of movies of all time.  Closeted, just because I don't have the appearance of a geek (at least not since high school).

I grew up in church, but did not fully accept Christ until I was 19 years old. Over time, I have come to really love diving into the Word. I generally find the New Living Translation to be the easiest translation to share with others, and it is the version I use the most in this blog.

I work in the field of Special Education. It was these kids that taught me how to love the way God loves us. If ever you want to see Agape love in action, watch a special education teacher work with her students, and watch how they respond to her.

I have a severe hearing loss, so sometimes I misunderstand things, but that usually just makes life more interesting.

I am married, and between us, we have been blessed to have five kids (including in-laws) and three grandchildren.
